A voter's wish fulfilled at medical college

FINANCE Minister PTR Palanivel Thiaga Rajan 'lifted the spirits of a voter from his constituency after she put forth a request months back. Minister inaugurated a lift at the Madurai Medical College, replacing a decades-old dysfunctional Lift. Earlier, during the announcement of Assembly election results in May, Krishnammal, an elderly lift operator at the Madurai Medical College put forth a request to Thiaga Rajan when he was at the premises to collect the certificate issued following his electoral victory as the MLA of Madurai Central constituency. Krishnammal, who is a voter from the Minister's constituency, requested him to replace the dysfunctional lift at the medical college building.

Heeding to her request, the lift has been replaced due to the intervention of Thiaga Rajan and efforts of the Public Works Department (PWD).

Thiaga Rajan said, "The Madurai Medical College serves as a counting centre during every election. The lift was under repair during my visit after the 2016 election and was in complete ruins, dysfunctional this year."
